Mini cooper steering wheel going stiff after a few miles? - stiff steering wheel mini cooper

Whenever I return to the engine (after they stopped for several hours), the bike is easy to make, but by no means obsolete after about 2 miles to go and when I parked my goal is very difficult to maneuver. Any tips? This is a mini-2004.
